Get Involved

CoSA is the premier membership association for the state and territorial government archives of the fifty states, five territories, and the District of Columbia. While the state archivist or other designee serves as CoSA’s primary contact, there is no limit to the number of individuals within member organizations who can access benefits and engage fully with all that CoSA offers.

There are many ways to get involved and make an impact:

  • Membership: Membership is open at the institutional level, with several membership tiers to meet the needs of each state archives and its staff. All staff at member institutions gain access to resources, professional development, and networking opportunities.
  • Committees: Contribute to CoSA’s governance, programs, and initiatives by serving on a standing committee.
  • Working Groups: Collaborate on time-bound projects, programs, and special initiatives that advance CoSA’s mission.
  • Affinity Groups: Participate in casual, member-led discussions on topical issues in archives and records management.
  • Chatting with Colleagues: Join moderated, informal sessions that explore timely topics and encourage peer-to-peer learning.
  • Sponsorship: Partner with CoSA to support programs, events, and initiatives that benefit the archives community.
  • Individual Donations: Support CoSA’s work with a one-time or recurring contribution, helping to sustain resources and programs for all members.

Whether through membership, volunteering, or financial support, there are numerous ways to engage with CoSA, connect with colleagues, and advance the field of state and territorial archives. Click the tiles below to learn more about each opportunity to Get Involved!
