Annual Meeting

Since 1989, CoSA has brought state and territorial government archivists together to share insights, discuss emerging challenges, and learn from one another. These gatherings have long served as a cornerstone of our community - offering a space for professional growth, collaboration, and strategic discussions that advance the work of state and territorial government archives nationwide.

For many years, CoSA held its annual meeting in partnership with mission-aligned organizations such as the Society of American Archivists (SAA), the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA), and the Best Practices Exchange (BPE). These collaborative gatherings strengthened connections across the archival field and ensured that state and territorial perspectives were part of broader national conversations.

In 2024, CoSA began hosting its own standalone Annual Meeting, creating a dedicated forum tailored specifically to the needs, priorities, and leadership of the state and territorial archives community. This event continues to evolve, offering a mix of plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, discussion groups, and networking opportunities designed to inspire new ideas, foster partnerships, and support the vital work of state and territorial government records programs.
