Each May, CoSA raises awareness about the importance of protecting records of historical importance against all types of disasters that place our heritage in jeopardy. Our efforts include raising funds to provide much-needed supplies to government archives recovering from natural or manmade disasters.
In recent years, we have been able to purchase supplies for the Archives of Puerto Rico and the Friends of the Kentucky State Archives after devastating hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods ravaged facilities and damaged collections. As we face the accelerating frequency of severe natural disasters, our Disaster Recovery Fund is in critical need of replenishment.
Help Us Leverage Individual Support
When disaster strikes, lifelines to recovery and support are crucial. And, disasters that threaten our cultural heritage are becoming all to frequent.
We invite you to join our efforts by becoming a “Lifeline” sponsor with a contribution of $500, $1,000 or $1,500. Or perhaps you’d consider sponsoring a challenge match for $2,000 or more. No matter your level of support, your “Lifeline” sponsorship will help to boost contributions to our Disaster Recovery Fund.
Recognizing Your “Lifeline” Support
We’d be honored to have your business become a Lifeline Sponsor of our Emergency Preparedness efforts. With your “Lifeline” sponsorship, your business and logo will be listed on all appeal materials and in our social media. Additionally, your business will be recognized for three months in our monthly News Brief (1,200+ subscribers) and in our emergency preparedness resources section of our website for one year from the time of your contribution.
We’re happy to answer any questions about our Disaster Recovery Fund fundraising work – we look forward to hearing from you. Feel free to reach out to Anne Ackerson, our Communications and Development Coordinator.
